Definitely worth going to this hotel. This hotel is very central to most prominent places. Easy transport to the new part of Valencia.

The Melia Plaza is in one of the main squares, la Plaza del Ayuntamiento, and perfect for walking anywhere. The downside is the traffic, and therefore we asked for a quiet room away from the front. Fine, except our room overlooked a dark alley that only came to life at 5am when the laundry delivery van came and dragged trolleys over the ribbed road, accompanied by a lively conversation to the hotel night porter. After two nights, we complained and were offered another room. We stayed for the third. Same delivery, no conversation. Advise not to ask for a quiet room. Suffer the traffic and the nice views instead. The main parts of the hotel are more 3 star than 4 and much smaller than the website photos. But rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is OK.

Take the tourist bus from nearby Plaza de la Reina to get your bearings.
We recommend the Sagardi restaurant, five minutes walk in C. San Vicente. Tapas downstairs, fixed price menus upstairs 40/44 euros.

we were a group of 11 on a works Xmas outing and were disapointed that the bar closed so early each night.
A few of the rooms had excellent views of the city but most were of a brick wall..
